On Saturday afternoon, four-star safety Jaden Walk-Green from Corona Centennial High School in California made his college decision public, announcing his pledge to Washington for the 2027 recruiting cycle. The Huskies secured his commitment over offers from Arizona State, UCLA, Vanderbilt, and Kansas State.
According to Rivals.com, Walk-Green holds a four-star rating, is positioned at No. 166 overall in the national rankings, and is recognized as the country’s No. 14 safety. His final decision came after he trimmed his list to a core group featuring the Sun Devils, Bruins, Commodores, and Wildcats, with several of those programs hosting him for official visits prior to his announcement.

The defensive back, listed between 5-foot-11 and 185–188 pounds, put together a standout junior campaign at Centennial, amassing 125 tackles and 10 interceptions five of which he returned for touchdowns. His total defensive scores reach six when accounting for additional return production. Those pick-sixes covered distances of 49, 68, 78, 88, and 92 yards.
Walk-Green also demonstrated his versatility with a 27-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown and a 94-yard punt return score, underscoring his ability to impact games in multiple phases. He turned in notable tackling efforts throughout the season, including a 15-tackle performance against Santa Margarita and 13 tackles versus Servite, as part of his team’s 11-2 record.

In a 63-14 victory over Vista Murrieta, he tipped a pass to himself, hauled in the interception, and took it 88 yards to the end zone showcasing his elusiveness by leaping over a defender near midfield and breaking additional tackles along the way.
On special teams, he also contributed as a kicker, connecting on 4-of-5 field goal attempts and 63-of-65 extra points.
With Walk-Green in the fold, Washington now has 19 total commitments for the class, 11 on the defensive side of the ball, and two at safety. His addition bolsters an expanding defensive haul under head coach Jedd Fisch, which already features multiple four-star defensive backs.

He is projected to slot into the system overseen by coordinator Ryan Walters and will work under the guidance of position coach Taylor Mays, who served as his primary recruiter throughout the process.
Walk-Green is also a baseball player at Centennial and intends to pursue both sports at Washington, with plans to join coach Eddie Smith’s baseball program as well.
