According to Jorge Castillo of ESPN, the Phillies have agreed to a minor league contract with outfielder Tommy Pham. Pham, who had been in the Orioles’ system, now has an opt-out clause in his new deal set for July 25.
This marks Pham’s third organization in just the past three months. He started the season on a minor league pact with the Mets and had a brief two-week big league stint in mid-April, though he went hitless in 13 at-bats and was DFA’d before the month ended.
He then caught on with the Orioles in May but was let go after 16 Triple-A games.

Baltimore appeared to have little room for Pham on the major league roster, especially with Tyler O’Neill already filling a similar right-handed corner outfield role and struggling for regular at-bats.
Pham faced long odds of getting called up there. With Philadelphia, however, the situation is different the Phillies have a much more viable path to the big leagues for him, especially given that Adolis García is sidelined for multiple months and Johan Rojas is out for the season.
