The Detroit Pistons are making it very clear that they are ready to take a huge swing this offseason. After a fantastic run to the top seed in the Eastern Conference last year, they are looking to retool and add a major piece to truly contend for a championship.
Right now, the biggest name on their radar is Kevin Durant. According to NBA insiders, the Pistons were part of serious trade discussions involving the future Hall of Famer.

The word is that the team is working behind the scenes on a move that nobody is really expecting, and landing Durant would be exactly that kind of blockbuster.
Even though those talks have cooled down a bit, the interest is definitely still there. For Detroit, Durant would be the perfect player to pair with their young star Cade Cunningham.
He would fix their half-court offense and give them the veteran championship experience and outside shooting they need, especially during the playoffs when things slow down.
Bringing in Durant could instantly make the Pistons a powerhouse in the East, even if some analysts think it’s a big risk for a player who’s about to turn 37 and still has $90 million left on his contract.
Even if a trade doesn’t happen, just having these talks shows that the Pistons are no longer just rebuilding they want to win now.
