BREAKING NEWS: Kentucky Wildcats land 4-star Bluegrass prospect Tyler Fryman

Kentucky Football’s 2027 recruiting haul just got even stronger, with four-star wide receiver Tyler Fryman officially flipping his pledge from Louisville Baseball to the Wildcats on the gridiron.

Originally from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, the 5-foot-11, 179-pound Beechwood standout committed to the Cardinals’ baseball program all the way back in eighth grade, before he had even set foot in high school. Louisville later extended a football offer to him in June 2025. Kentucky first showed interest that October, when Mark Stoops and his staff at the time offered the versatile athlete, but after Stoops’ departure and Will Stein’s arrival as head coach, the new regime zeroed in on Fryman as a key target.

That push clearly resonated. Following an official visit to Lexington, Fryman first backed off his Louisville commitment and has now officially thrown in with Kentucky’s burgeoning 2027 class.

Per the 247 Sports Composite, Fryman checks in as the nation’s No. 210 overall recruit, the No. 30 wideout, and the third-ranked player in the state of Kentucky. His junior campaign only bolstered that reputation: 45 catches for 1,023 yards and 18 touchdowns through the air, plus 17 carries for 277 yards and three more scores on the ground—numbers that underscore exactly why he’s so highly coveted.

Fryman hasn’t closed the door on playing both sports at the next level, either. He’s openly discussed the possibility of a two-sport college career, not unlike Kentucky football and baseball signee Matt Ponatoski, who continues to weigh professional baseball against the collegiate route.

For now, though, Stein and the Wildcats can savor another high-profile addition as their rapidly ascending recruiting class keeps gaining steam.
